Descriptor: Günther, 1861).

Etymology:

Synonym (S) or common noun (S): Osphromenus microlepis (sci). Moonlight Gourami (FRA). Moobeam gourami (ang). Moonligt gourami (ang). Mondschein fadenfish (all). Mondschein-gurami (all). Description :
Le Trichogaster microlepis est un gourami très beau et gracile dont la couleur rappelle celle d'un clair de lune.corps haut et allongé, très aplati sur les côtés. La tête est légèrement pointue et la bouche est ouverte obliquement vers le haut. Les yeux sont assez grand avec un iris rouge chez l'adulte en bonne santé. Les nageoires ventrales sont filiformes et peuvent atteindre 20cm de longueur. La couleur est uniformément argentée avec des reflets bleu clair.
La livré bleu-argent est uniforme et relevé par l’œil dont l’iris est souvent rouge cerclé d’or .

Anatomie :

Comportement :C’est une espèce timide ,paisible ,et territorial .On peut le maintenir avec de petites espèces .Les mâles peuvent parfois se disputer .Voilà pourquoi il ne convient de n’en mettre qu’un par aquarium moins de 300 L .A Maintenir en couple .Le mâle chasse sans cesse les femelles.

Nutrition :
Il est omnivore. Toutes les nourritures sont appréciées.
il doit être nourri avec du vivant et une part de végétaux

Nourriture des larves :
infusoire , nauplies d’artémia.


Dimorphisme :
La nageoire dorsale des mâles est plus longue et terminée en pointe .Les nageoires ventrales filamenteuses sont rouge –orange .Les femelles sont argentées et ont une nageoire dorsale courte et arrondie. Ce poisson ne montre ,ces véritables couleurs qu’après acclimatation. La seule différence entre mâle et femelle est la couleur des filaments : jaunâtres pour les femelles, rougeâtres pour les mâles..
A l'âge adulte, ce sont de magnifiques poissons, rarement trouvés en animalerie à cette taille.


Reproduction :
reproduction du même type que les autres gouramis : Il faut placer le couple dans un bac de reproduction de 90 à 120L. Le mâle construit un nid de bulles, de salive et de fragments de plantes. La ponte a lieu sous le nid. Le mâle s'enroule autour de la femelle et féconde les oeufs . Il faut retirer les parents 24H après la ponte . les œufs ,transparents et légèrement jaunes ,sont plus légers que l’eau et montent d’eux mêmes vers le nid où le mâle les regroupent . Il faut retirer les parents 24H après la ponte . Les alevins naissent 3 à 4 jours plus tard et peuvent être nourris aux nauplies d’artémia. Pour réussir l'élevage il faut que le bac soit bien couvert pour éviter que la couche d'air au dessus de la surface soit trop froide.
