White Poisson with silver plated reflections. He has spots blacks on the top of the body. The chatareus is distinguished from T.Jaculatrix by the following characters; the dorsal of T.chatareus has 5 hard rays, that of T.jaculatrix has of them only 4; the side line of T. chatareus has 30 (29) scales, that of T.jacularix has 34-35 (33) scales. If the black vertical bands are numbered, on the basis of the head, of 1à 6, one finds at T. chatareus between bands 3 and 4 a black intermediate spot; an identical spot can also appear between bands 2 and 3,4 and 5 like 5 and 6; at T.jaculatrix these intermediate spots are absent.
