Description

Tetra
à l'oeil cerclé de bleu brillant, la nageoire anale jaune claire, la
dorsale en forme de faux et la caudale armée d'un éperon. Une longue
ligne sombre longe son corps. La partie inférieure est recouverte par
une épaisse bande noire. Au dessus de celle-ci, on constate une
coloration bleue. Ses couleurs sont d'autant plus vives si l'aquarium a
une eau sombre.

Ne pas le confondre avec le tetra royal (Inpaichthys kerri) qui, lui, ne possède pas d'éperon a la dorsale.

Espérance de vie

peut aller a 6 ans et +
Comportement

grégaire, il doit être maintenu avec 10 individu minimum.

Poisson très calme et paisible, à faire cohabiter avec des poissons calmes et tranquilles.

Reproduction

On la réussit dans une eau légèrement acide et de dureté moyenne.
Dimorphisme

Le mâle a les nageoire caudale et dorsale plus longue.
Les femelles ont les yeux verts et les mâles les yeux bleus.
